The Truck that Loves the City
Sustainable, efficient, manoeuvrable and versatile: the Eurocargo is the perfect truck for urban missions.
From waste collection and road cleaning to road services and container applications, it can satisfy every need.
Cities love the Eurocargo, Truck of the Year 2016: the truck that respects people and the environment wherever it operates, even in the busy streets of a major city.
Comfortable and ergonomic
The steering wheel controls enable the driver to use the radio and phone in complete safety. The vehicle also features ergonomic controls for the climate control, lights and automatic gearbox.
Everything has its place within arm’s reach: it features more storage compartments for items and documents, special compartments for cards and a hanging rail on the back wall of the cab. The driver’s side console houses two practical bottle holders, a 12 V power socket and an option for a compressed air socket.
Robust, strong design
The cab is modern and practical, fully expressing the vehicle’s energetic character.
The shape of the new deflectors highlights the large brand name in the centre.
The cabin available as a day, sleeper and crew versions with other one step or two, depending on the model. The sleeper cab can be specified with a high roof for extra space and stowage.
Greater flexibility and performance
The Iveco Eurocargo in available with two four-cylinder 160 and 190 HP engines specially designed for high truck performance in city work.
The Eurocargo’s hearts are Tector 5 four-cylinder diesel 4.5-litre and Tector 7 six-cylinder 6.7-litre diesel. The range includes seven power levels from 160 to 320 Hp, with a maximum torque of 1100 Nm, completed with a CNG engine delivering 750 Nm and 204 Hp.
Regeneration - No Thanks
The Eurocargo is the only Euro VI step C truck in its category to adopt a single after-treatment solution for exhaust gases: the exclusive HI-SCR system with passive DPF.
Our patented HI-SCR is simply the best selective catalytic reduction system on the market and the only one that achieves a 97% NOx reduction.
This means that we can meet Euro VI step C standards without Exhaust Gas Recirculation.
CNG is the most environmentally-friendly fuel commercially available: the only real alternative to automotive diesel fuel, with 3500 CNG distribution facilities operating in Europe.
The emissions of IVECO’s CNG engine contain reduced levels of NOx, zero lead compound and 95% less particulates compared with diesel. The vehicle’s features and load capacity are identical to the diesel versions.
The Eurocargo Natural Power is particularly at home in major cities - its low emissions mean it is allowed to drive in restricted traffic zones and its quiet operation makes it perfect for night-time work (PIEK Certified).
Seats are trimmed with an in electrowelded fabric; there is a new “high-comfort” air suspension driver’s seat, available upon request, with a fully adjustable backrest, height-adjustable seat belt, dual density upholstery, heating and ventilation. An armrest is available as an optional extra for all air-suspended seats.
Ideal for urban missions, the Eurocargo guarantees easy cross cab access. The linear dashboard and the compact dimensions of the engine tunnel allows the driver to easily leave the vehicle from either the right or the left.
Weight Range for all Applications
The 4x2 truck chassis is available from 6,000 kgs GVW to 12,000 kgs GVW with a one-step configuration and from 12,000 kgs to 19,000 kgs in a two-step configuration.
Eurocargo 4x4 comes as either 11,500 kgs GVW or 15,000 kgs GVW.
Engines with CNG are available in a number of weight bands from 11,500 kgs to 16,000 kgs GVW.
Transmissions to Mission Match
Eurocargo transmissions come in three options
ZF Automated - Standard transmission for 4x2 diesel chassis, available as either 6-Speed or 9-Speed
ZF Manual - Available as 6-Speed or 9-Speed throughout the range and configuration
Allison Automatic - Available from 8,000 kgs GVW and above on Bothe 4x2 and 4x4 versions. Standard for the CNG engine
About the New Eurocargo
Robust & reliable
The Eurocargo truck appeals to customers because of its reliability and robustness: two qualities which stem from the chassis, derived from heavy haulage and designed to be durable and to withstand higher stresses (e.g. an unbalanced load or a sudden change of direction).
To adapt to any type of mission, the new Iveco Eurocargo offers many different types of suspension: parabolic, semi-elliptical leaf spring and air suspensions. Air suspensions are controlled by an ECAS (Electronically Controlled Air Suspension) system, which guarantees a constant vehicle position regardless of the load level. They can be fitted to the rear axle or to both axles.
The front and rear axles and braking system guarantee the reliability of the mechanical characteristics over time. The braking system is air-hydraulic on the 6- to 10-tonne range and full air on the 11- to 19-tonne range.
All 4x2 versions are equipped with disc brakes as standard. An exhaust flap has been introduced with the HI-SCR technology, which acts to quickly bring exhaust gases to the right temperature. This device also helps improve engine braking power (thereby improving the vehicle’s overall braking capacity).
Three different cab types to satify the requirements of every job.
From deliveries to construction, refrigerated transport to urban services, the new Eurocargo truck is graduated in versatility in its category – and is also the easiest to body.
Made from high-yield-strength steel, the chassis frame can accommodate body lengths of 4265 to 10,175 mm; the side members are parallel along the entire length and are pre-configured to simplify assembly of the superstructure. The new Iveco Eurocargo offers three different cab types: their versatility satisfies the requirements of every job:
- The day cab offers the best balance between overall body width and length, and is best suited to daily work in major cities.
- The sleeper cab is available in a standard or high roof version; this is designed to provide overnight accommodation and is equipped with one or two bunks. Two illuminated boxes (accessible from both inside and outside) provide 260 litres of additional space for the efficient storage of bags or tools. The outer door can be opened using an electric control.
- The crew cab (with standard roof) is designed to transport the whole crew plus tools and equipment. It can accommodate six passengers in addition to the driver, and is particularly well suited for use in construction and fire prevention services. In total, the new Eurocargo is available in 11,000 factory versions, resulting from the combination of its product variants: two types of drive, 14 gross vehicle weight levels and seven power outputs, 12 gearboxes, 15 wheelbases and three types of cab with two roofs
– in addition to a wide range of suspension systems, axle ratios, axles and PTOs (up to 1100 Nm).
