The Role

We are recruiting for an LCV PDI/Used Prep Technician to join the team at our workshop in Broxburn, Day shift or backshift hours available.

We offer market leading rates of pay which are negotiable depending on experience and the right candidates will also have the opportunity to receive monthly and annual bonuses. In addition, we also run an employee referral scheme where colleagues can receive up to £1,000 for each successful technician referral.

The purpose of the role is to carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections to ensure that all new vehicles are prepared and delivered to the highest of standards, so that we can meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. The role will also include diagnosing and repairing used vehicles.

This will be from within our Franchise sectors but may also cover other makes of commercial vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a fresh challenge with a dynamic and rapidly growing company.

The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections on new vehicles.
  • Preparing used vehicles ready for sale.
  • Maintenance of all equipment to the highest standard.
  • Advising the supervisor of any improvements to enhance reliability and reduce costs.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable task which may arise.

The key skills and qualities of a PDI & Prep Technician are:

  • A good level of technical knowledge, ability and experience in the mechanical repair of commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to organise own workload, work on own initiative and to strict deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • A current full driving License.
  • PC skills and proficiency are preferable.

*Payable after 3 and 6 months of employment.
